Cost Controller

Unity Homes is looking for a Cost Controller.

S/he will be responsible for overseeing and analysing the costs aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining budget integrity. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, project coordinators, procurement officers and the finance team to monitor project expenses, analyse cost variances, and implement cost control measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and record all project costs, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Analyse cost data to identify trends, variances, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts to predict future expenditures.
  • Provide recommendations for cost optimization
  • Prepare variance analysis reports to explain deviations from the budget.
  • Work closely with project managers, project coordinators, and the finance team to align cost control efforts with project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cost Controller or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction cost control principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and construction management software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labour costs.
